Recipe adapted from here, Originally Urad dal has been added and so the recipe is called" Dal Kababi", but I've replaced Urad dal with Couscous, and it was a good alternative and of course healthy as well.

Ingredients
  •     Couscous 1/4 cup
  •     Chicken,minced    100 grams
  •     Oil    2 tablespoons
  •     Salt    to taste
  •     Red chilli powder     3/4 tsp.
  •     Garam masala powder    1/2 tsp.
  •     Green chillies,chopped    1/2 tsp.
  •     Yogurt    1 tsp.
  •     Ginger-garlic paste    3/4 tbsp.
  •     Shahi Jeera    1/2 teaspoon
  •     Onions,chopped    1 medium
  •     Turmeric powder    1/4 teaspoon
  •     Tomato,chopped    1/2 large
  •     Fresh coriander leaves,chopped    1 tbsp.
  •     Lemon,cut into wedges    1

Method:

  • Add salt, 1/4 tsp red chilli powder, a 1/4 tsp garam masala powder, 1/4 tsp chopped green chillies, yogurt, half the ginger-garlic paste to minced chicken and mix well. Marinate for 15 minutes. Clean the couscous and soak in water.
  • Heat oil in a non stick pan. Add Shahi Jeera, onions, remaining green chillies to the oil in the pan and sauté till lightly browned. Add the remaining ginger-garlic paste and mix. Add turmeric powder, remaining red chilli powder and tomato and sauté. Divide minced chicken mixture into marble sized balls.
  • Drain the couscous and add to the pan along with 2 cups water, salt, remaining garam masala powder, coriander leaves and mix. Cover and cook for 3-4 minutes.Later add the chicken keema balls and cover. 
  • Cook for 3-4 minutes on high heat. Reduce heat to medium and cook till both couscous and chicken is completely cooked. Add more water if the mixture is too thick.  Serve hot with lemon wedges.
