Actually u can make plantain fry in n number of ways and this is one such kinda version... Nothing beats the combo of plantain fry with sambar and curd rice.. And ofcourse it's no wonder kids love potatoes and plantain..
Plantain -- 2 nos.
Red chilli powder -- 1 tsp
Coriander powder -- 1/4 tsp (optional)
Turmeric powder -- less than 1/4 tsp
GG paste -- 1 tsp
Salt -- to taste
Corn flour -- 1 tsp (optional)
Oil -- as reqd
Urad dal -- 1/4 tsp
Curry leaves -- 1 sprig
Peel the skin from the plantain and cut into thin slices. Actually u can make this fry in two ways..U may half boil the plantain and then apply the masala and fry it. Otherwise u may opt this way.. take a pan and the oil and do the seasoning with urad dal and curry leaves. keep the flame in low and add all the dry powders one by one and gg paste..Mix it well and makes a thick paste adding little water. Now place each slices on the masala and cook it in the low flame for 2 to 3 minutes on one side. Then flip the slices and again cook it for 2 minutes. scald well..( u may sprinkle little bit of water to cook the plantain ) So that the masala's evenly coats each slice .By making this way, slices doesn't break and u get a perfect fry..
