While I's was thinking what to do with this methi leaves , happened to see a post in Kalyan's kitchen (thanks to her..) and that made me remember this wonderful wish and I made it after a very long time.To my surprise, my H remembered and said VV Good after having this.. So, here it comes,
Potatoes -- 4 medium sized (boiled)
Methi leaves -- 1 cup
Onions -Cut into slivers -- 1/2 cup
Tomato -- cut into cubes -- 1 nos.
Green chilly --Slit open -- 2 nos.
REd chilli powder -- 1/4 tsp
Curry leaves -- 1 sprig
Turmeric powder -- a pinch
Oil --2 tbsp
Mustard seeds -- 1/2 tsp
Urad dal -- 1/2 tsp
Channa dal -- 1/2 tsp
Coriander leaves -- a handful
Besan flour -- 1 spoon
GG paste --1 tsp (optional)
To powder :
Cinnamom -- 1/2 inch piece
Cloves -- 1 no.
Cardamom -- 1 no
Grind the ingredients to make a fine powder and keep it ready. Boil the potatooes and peel the skin and cut into very small cubes ..like what u do for poori masal.. Now take a kadai and pour the oil and do the seasoning with the mustard seeds, urad dhal ,channa dhal and curry leaves. Add the chopped onion and scald it well for 2 minutes. Add the gg paste and fry well for a minute or so. Add the masala powder as well and fry for another minute. Then add the tomatoes, salt ,turmeric powder and cook till gets all mushy .. now add the potatoes, red chilli powder and mix well with the masala. Add a cup of water and combine well. Let the curry boils and then dump in the methi leaves and cook for 3 to 4 minutes. By the time ,dilute the besan flour adding 1/4 cup of water and add this to the boiling curry. Stir the curry and in a few seconds, ur curry will be creamy. Cook this curry for few more minutes to get rid of the raw smell of besan flour and add the coriander leaves and switch off.. Have this awesome curry with roti's of ur choice..
Adding besan flour not only thickens the gravy but also gives wonderful taste u could ever imagine..Try it and find out the results...
