Kara Kulambu /Spicy tangy gravy

Am gonna make everything very simple today. I also wanna wind up my chores before 8 p.m since my favourite PW is gonna cook with bobby flay..Isn't that awesome ?! Actually am waiting for this show from last week onwards as soon as i heard the news from her website.. Sure, it's gonna be awesome watching both legends ( jaambavans ) cook..

Ingredients :

Tamarind -- small lemon size
Onion -- 1 no. (chopped)
Tomato -- 2 nos. (cubed)
Curry leaves --1 sprig
Fenugreek seeds -- 1/4 tsp
Red chilli powder -- 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder -- 1 tsp
Salt -- to taste
Mustard seeds -- 1/2 tsp
Garlic -- sliced -- 3 nos.
Veggies (any one -- drumstick,brinjal,okra) -- 1/2 cup
Sesame oil -- 2 tbsp

To grind :
Coconut -- 3 tbsp
Cashews -- 5 no.
Sombu /fennel seeds -- 1/4 tsp
garlic -- 2 pods

Method :

Soak the tamarind in hot water for 2 minutes and take out the pulp. Mix salt,red chilli powder,coriander powder and salt in the pulp and keep it aside. Add the oil in a hot kadai and throw in the mustard seeds. Add the onion once the mustard starts splutters. Saute well. Add the fenugreek seeds and curry leaves. next add the tomatoes and cook well for 2 minutes. Now add the tamarind pulp mixture and cook well till the raw smell disappears. Grind all the masala's given in the table . Add this coconut paste in the boiling mixture and slow cook the kulambu till the oil starts leaving out..

    I made the mushroom curry yday for dinner, it was out of the world. As i made for dinner, i didnt get a chance to photograph it. I will def make it again and take pictures..Thanks you so much ....
