Mirch brinji gravy

This gravy is a bit tangy,spicy which goes well with the main dish those are bland. It goes well with chappathi also.
Ingredients :
Bajji chilly -- 1 no. (u can substitute with bell pepper)
Brinjal -- 3 no.
Onion -- 1 no.
Ginger -- 1 inch piece
Garlic -- 6 cloves
Coconut -- 3 tbsp
Tamarind --small gooseberry sized
coriander seeds -- 1tbsp
Sesame seeds -- 2 tsp
Peanuts -- 1 tbsp
Cumin -- 1+1 tsp
Turmeric powder-- 1/4 tsp
Red chilli powder -- 1/2 tsp
Mustard seeds-- 1 tsp
salt -- acc to taste
water -- 1 cup
Oil --4 tbsp
Brinji leaf --2 no.
Cloves -- 4 no.
Curry leaves-- 1 sprig
1. To grind raw out of the above ingredients :
Onion, tamarind,ginger,garlic,coconut
Grind these into a fine paste
2. Toast and coarsely grind from the above ingredients :
Coriander seeds,peanuts,1 tsp cumin seeds, sesame seeds.
Grind these coarsely into powder.
3. Toast and grind from the above ingredients :
Brinji leaves,cloves.
Toast both and coarsely grind into powder.

Method :
Heat a pan with oil and fry the bajji chilly & then the brinjals. Make sure u de seed the bajji chilly b4 u fry it. U may cut the brinjal as well. Keep aside. In the same pan do the seasoning with mustard seeds, curry leaves, ground masala powders(from 3) & add the ground raw onion paste (from 1) .Combine it well. Close the pan and wait for few minutes to get the raw smell gone.Now add the red chilli powder,turmeric powder,salt and the ground powder (from 2). Mix it well. Close the pan and cook for few minutes so that all the flavours get acquainted. At one point u may c the oil oozing out. Around that time add the cup of water and the fried veggies. cover it and cook for 3 minutes. switch off when u reach the desired consistency.
