Appam

Today i wanted to eat something sweet but not too  sweet . Suddenly i pictured appam in my mind but i do not like the idea of mixing bananas in appam. So,i's searching for alternatives. Finally i found this recipe from a fellow blogger and immedialtely started trying it..here comes from my kitchen to ur's.........
Ingredients :
Sooji /semolina /rava -- 1/2 cup
Maida / All purpose flour -- 1/2 cup
Sugar -- 1/2 cup
Milk -- 1/2 cup
cardamom -- a dash
Coconut piece --1 tsp (optional )
Oil -- to deep fry
OR  u can use mould
Method :
Mix all the ingredients in a mixing bowl without any lumps. close & Rest it for couple of hours .. By the time the sooji will be soaked and becomes soft.

 Take a pan filled with enough oil to deep fry and heat it. keep it in the medium low. To make appam, the heat should very minimum. Using a spoon drop the dough in the hot oil and fry it (golden brown). Do not worry,it will not absorb oil. For those who use mould : Dab little amount of oil on each cell and slowly pour the dough into each cell.



Make sure u leave some space cos that will expand once cooked. Flip to the other side and cook evenly on both sides.
